Poem: Woman

Dedicated to my husband

I am woman
From the rhythmic sway of my large curved hips
To the sensual swoop of the curve of my back
from the powerful words that exude from my lips
to the hands that provide without lack

from the deep set eyes that pierce your soul
to the feet that walk behind you by just one step
from the ego building submission that makes you whole
to the self educated intelligence that gives me depth

It makes me no less of woman because I love my "Man"
it took nothing from me to help him stand
I have no ego: so it did not break me
To put my hand in his and let him take me

God knew when Adam took the fruit from Eve
that these hips had the power to decieve
He knew that her walk could hypnotize man
that she could cause him to fall, rather than help him to stand

But God also made woman extremely wise
to use the wisdom of her heart and not the movement of her thighs
To let her husband wear his God given crown
To build him up and not tear him down
To serve him and know that she is not his serv-ant
To give when all her giving is spent
To rise up when she would rather lay down
To know that she too, is wearing a crown
To know that in order to be a Queen
She must allow her Prince to become a King

I am woman
From the rhythmic sway of my large curved hips
To the sensual swoop of the curve of my back

And...I...am...yours
